There was then a photogallery, a pop shot recap, six trailers, a cast list, a biography for the director, and some websites to check out.

Audio/Video Quality: Super Cougar Gina Lynn was presented in an anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 widescreen color the movie was shot in by director Jules Jordan for Jules Jordan Video in the MPEG-2 codec used for standard definition releases (in 480 resolution). There was some variation in the lighting that added additional grain but I saw a few other issues as the camera kept an active stance at providing the best angles to showcase the ladies. The editing helped in this endeavor too with a movie as long as this one needing extra care to make sure that there is enough tease but also heated sexual antics, my initial impression being that this was a well rounded romp where virtually all the cast had a lot of fun. The bitrate was on the modest side yet there were few compression artifacts, the aliasing minimal and given the length of the single disc offering (still clocking in with a lot of Gina Lynn material though), fans of gonzo scenes should be very pleased. The bitrate hovered all over the place this time, higher than usual with most of the movie in the 3.9 Mbps range, but varying across the board depending on the scene; a company watermark displayed in the lower right hand corner throughout the movie. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (at 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering that really didn't use any separation in terms of the vocals (there was some potential to do so here too). The dynamic range was also kind of generic, but the visuals have long ruled in most of Jules' past works too.

Body of Review: Jules Jordan is one of the best known quality directors in porn these days, his reputation at Jules Jordan Video such that he ranks highly even among his peers for the quality of gonzo porn he produces. While Jules has recently been reverting to more single disc releases, he still offers such a wealth of material, quality material at that, you will rarely go wrong picking up anything he does. The latest such title is Super Cougar Gina Lynn, a selection of five scenes featuring hotty Gina Lynn, the long popular blond thankfully showcased given the lack of scenes coming from her own company of late. Past collaborations between Jules and Gina have yielded some of her very best work ever so I was hopeful this would be just as good. Audio/Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, and although I didn't notice any background noises it also didn't seem overly crisp. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks very nice. It's clear, well lit, and has the usual smooth hand on the camera one expects from Jules Jordan as well as a touch of softness that gives the movie a slightly more artistic feeling.

Watermark Warning: Although I don't like to see watermarks, I don't blame studios for using them if they think it will stop piracy of their product if they can do it tastefully. Here, Jules Jordan Video does it fairly tastefully with a very small watermark in the lower right corner that stays stationary so that it's easy to filter out of one's mind. It would be better if it were a little lower and more to the side as it did start to intrude a few times and drew my eyes away from what they were wanting to see, but it's much better than some other watermarks I've seen.

That said, this one never seemed like a “Jules Jordan” release, which was the main reason I picked this one up. As I said earlier I'm not a big fan of Gina Lynn, but I'm always willing to try something different or to revisit things that might not have worked for me the best in the past. For that reason I picked this one up knowing that Jules' chemistry with the girls often brings a heck of a lot out of each scene. His camera work is as solid as one would expect, but that little extra spark seems to be missing here to take this one from being a good release to being a great release. Super Cougar Gina Lynn is a solid release that should be a must-buy for her fans.
