Can a website featuring men of color thrive without using destructive stereotypes? Can black and Latino men involved in gay sex be presented without demeaning cliché and a parody of street language? A large adult film company brought me in to organize and deploy a vast amount of amateur gay content featuring black and Latino men. Over the years they had accumulated a large number of scenes with all sorts of themes and levels of quality. After researching the various products out there (DVD and member site) a definite theme developed and it wasn't pretty. Men of color were either plopped into video sites at the last minute - seemingly as tokens - or worse, they were presented in a manner that can best be described as pandering. Pandering to folks who think Blatino men can only be sexually appealing if they are criminals, illiterate thugs, or rutting animals. I hope we can do better. I have taken scenes from previously released material and am attempting to present them in a better way. BlatinoFantasy is a result of my efforts and I hope I will find support with this project. -- Marcus M.
